Lucy Laughing

Lucy is not as giggly as our other children so when she laughs we all get so excited. :O

Spring is here!

Lisa sent this cute outfit for Lucy and I had to get a shot of her in it before the weather gets too hot!

Beautiful sunny day in Katy! We are pretty spoiled here with weather. Lots of perfect sunny days. This is one is taken at the park in our neighborhood.

We like to walk through the Bayou behind our house and almost always see an alligator when we go.

This cute little gecko was climbing on our house and I mercifully scared him away before the kids noticed him. :O

Camping at Double Lake

We went camping with our good friends, the Spendloves for part of Easter weekend. It was so fun and the weather was perfect. We were a little nervous about camping with Lucy but she was a rockstar and slept like a champ. Wish I could say the same for the other campers there. A bunch of our neighbors were making noise until the wee hours of the morning. Arghh. But we still had a great time. Steve and Melissa made the best dinner: chicken, bacon, sausage, potatoes, carrots, green pepper... I think that's it- yum!! The boys loved climbing trees, fishing and hiking around the lake. We saw a snake and lots of cool bugs.

Spring break in Tyler Texas with the Jenz family!

We kept trying to decide what to do for Spring break. We wanted to do something fun but not too stressful. My old BFF from high school kept raving about Tyler Texas so we decided to give it a try. It ended up being one of our favorite family vacations ever. Tyler is great. Big enough that you have everything you need, but small enough that it's not super crowded and everything is very affordable. It was so fun to hang out with Laura and her adorable family. We also went swimming at a water park, rode go karts and bumper boats, swam at the pool at our hotel, canoed and hiked around. Tyler is so beautiful- it sort of reminds me of Michigan, hilly and very green. We will definitely go again.

For the first 2 nights we stayed at Pine Cove, a Christian Family camp. We loved it there! The cabins were very nice and the camp area was beautiful.

The last 2 nights of our trip we stayed at a hotel, which was nice. The boys had a great time swimming and we all just had time to relax in our hotel suite.

Bumper Boats!

Now for a ride on the big boy go karts- these were much faster and we all had a great time racing around the track!

Saying Good-bye to Lou and John (and little baby #3- Laura makes pregnancy look good!)

Daniel turns 5!!

Daniel and I decorated his very own Axis and Allies Cake! That is his favorite game these days and he would like to be a General when he grows up. I told him that you usually have to work your way up and he would probably start off as a "private." Boy, did he think that was funny! :O

Why do I do home birthday parties? They are exhausting. We tried to keep the little soldiers busy but it was no easy task. Here they are getting ready to play "pass the grenade." This is how the schedule went:

4:30-4:45 craft, decorate bags with stickers and sign dog tags
4:45-5:10 Obstacle course (balloon between knees, hula hoops (tires), balance beam, tunnel, jump over bean bags. Time each one and give reward
5:10-5:15 Drink break with juice boxes and peanuts in shells in a tent
5:15-5:35 Some kind of army game (make Curtis do it)
5:35-5:50- Throw bean bag onto giant map and try to hit targets
5:50-6:10 Open presents
6:10-6:20 Eat cake
6:20-6:30 Play Tank, Tank Grenade
Gift bags: gum in bag, binoculars, hat, camo sash

Kids go home, mommy and daddy crash!

Super Isaac

Isaac started trying to hoola hoop this year. He worked and worked and is now an exemplary hoola hooper!! This is him at the Kindgergarten Fall Party.

Fun at the "Tire Swing" park!

Mom and Lucy dropping by for the Kindergarten Rodeo!

What a little gentleman! He danced with a partner to Buffalo Gal but of course his favorite was the chicken dance!

Out first family pics

We have actually never had a professional family picture taken so when a friend at church said she knew a photographer who would come to our home I jumped on it. Turns out that getting a good family photo is easier said than done. :O We were planning to be outside but it was SUPER windy so we opted for pics in and around our home. The boys were SO squirrelly and I was super crabby. I wasn't happy with any of the whole family shots but she actually got some great individuals of the boys, which made it all worth it. I will never buy school pics again.

Jonah gets his wolf badge

Okay, so we know nothing about scouts but we should be experts before long. I'm just waiting for Curtis or me to get called as a cut scout leader. Jonah doesn't LOVE it but he sort of likes it so hopefully he'll stick it out.

Check out that cute little leopard. :O

Visiting Galveston with Bob and Bev

It was a beautiful day but SO windy! This was in February and Lucy was just 4 months but she did great. The boys absolutely loved running around the beach, finding shells and digging in the sand.

Random Lucy

Okay, we are so in love with this little girl!

Chillin with my homey during breakfast.

I'm so addicted to baby legs. Started making my own and I...can't...stop!!

Daniel adores baby Lucy and is so good at making her smile. I'm really amazed at how patient he is when she's fussy or tired. I hope they grow up to be buddies.

Are those boots the bomb or what? Thanks Naom- LOVE them!
