My sister Lisa and I met in Cincinnati for an impromtu girl's weekend. Much needed. It was great to just talk, talk, talk and of course we ate like kings. Pure pleasure for both of us as neither of our husband's are "foodies." We planned to attend "Time Out for Women" and went to some of it but mostly we just needed some sista time. We stayed at a Mariott in Covington KY. We were told it wasn't in the greatest neighborhood and that was true. We took a couple of walks around town and decided that we would only feel okay doing that in the middle of the day. Covington happened to be celebrating their annual MayFest on the Saturday that we were there so we went by for a couple of hours. It was awesome. Bands playing, fun jewelry and home made clothing. Great food like corn on the cob, loaded potatoes, fudge, fresh squeezed lemonade and such great people watching!
The hotel itself was fabulous, mostly because of their restaurant and breakfast buffet. Our favorite was the daily bagels with lox, capers, cream cheese and onions. But they also had mini smoothies, eggs, sausage, fruit, omelettes... Both our babies are pretty mellow and were young enough then that we could just relax and take our time eating and talking. "The best Jerry, the best..."
