Team Turner: Daniel's sensory Day at Preschool

Daniel's school is so great. A couple of weeks ago they had "Sensory Day" which means they fill up a bunch of pools with shaving cream, jello, ice or water. The kids had a blast. The teacher is his beloved "Miss Peggy"

Lucy: No. Snap!

Mom: Itchy?
Lucy: Yeah

Mom: What was your favorite part of scouts tonight?
Lucy: The Holly Hoopt! (hula hoop)

Lucy: "And Mom! Someday I'll be a mama and have a big bum!"

me: oooh I need to stop and get some gas but dang I don't wanna take the time... hmmm
Lucy: Just do your best Mama

me: Sometimes I can relate to Ms Hannigan

Curt: who?

Curt: Annie? Isn't she that baby clown? With... the moles?"

(I think he's trying to describe Raggety Ann with her freckles... but really?! I haven't laughed this hard in forever)

"For future Mother's Day try to have the dishwasher unloaded." Curtis

"Mama. I'm snuggle." Lucy as she crawls into bed with us early in the morning.

Mom: "and so like it says in the movie Spiderman, "With great power comes great responsibility." Jonah (who was very hungry): "And with great food comes great fullness."

mom: Dan, what are you doing?

Dan: Putting on a dragon costume so Isaac and Christian can try to slay me

mom: Who's idea was that?

Dan: Mine

mom: OK, well, as long as they are gentle with you

Dan: Oh yeah, they'll be gentle. And if they're not, Bam(explosion noise), dead by you! -All said in the cutest Daniel voice.

"I'm rooting for the Pittsburg Penquins because I like their costumes...?" "You mean uniforms?" Exchange between Curt and Cath- you can guess who said what.

"How about you can't be so cheap but you can be a bit cheap." Isaac clarifying the rules while the boys play brawl

"Mom...I....saw a ghost in there." Daniel on why I shouldn't go into the bathroom to see if he flushed.

"Think of the viewers!" Jonah to Lucy while trying to get to laugh for the camera.

"You're such a hogger talker." Isaac

"Mom, you gotta stop putting that ice pak in my lunch because I never bonk my head at school." Daniel

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. “You don’t have to tell me,” I said. “I’m off the team, aren’t I?” “Well,” said Coach, “you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you’re wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times.” It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that’s when I felt the handcuffs go on.
